10 proposals to reduce CO2 emissions 
To mark the World Day "10 proposals for emission reductions" of 10 to 10, 2010, in Madrid the Citizen Platform Against Climate Change held at the Ateneo distinctly an act of participatory alternated presentation of proposals and discussion with the audience. These were the 10 proposals that have left Pedalibre Association, Coordinator Green, CO. OO., Ecologists in Action, Young Greens and UGT. 1. Proposed new power sector legislation and hydrocarbon-based planning approach to the application. These laws have become a framework to facilitate saving and efficient use energy. 2. Proposal of environmental tax measures with the ultimate goal of changing the behavior of citizens and businesses in the consumption of goods and services, so as to replace the greatest impact and / or increased emissions by less toxic and more efficient. 3. Establishing a code of good environmental practices in business and environmental awareness of the worker as a citizen. 5. Intermodal transport of passengers for extending the use of bicycles. 6. Introduction of congestion charging. This is the more effective in reducing the misuse of cars in urban areas and therefore the contribution of the urban transport sector CO2 emissions. It has been tested successfully in the central core of London. 7. General speed limit on all streets to 30 km / h, watching as the exception to maintain the maximum speed of 50 km / h on roads designated as primary. 8. Price changes in public transport to encourage its use against the use of private cars. 9. Emission reductions in waste management. Discussed the need to separate the organic matter source and the importance of clear criteria to establish management programs waste, which may be the following hierarchy: prevention, preparation for reuse, recycling, recovery and disposal. 10. Saving energy at home. It was stated that in each house of helping to curb climate change by adjusting the cooling temperature within reasonable limits, recommended the use of the thermostat to not exceed 20 ยบ C and likewise recommended the consumption of local products with little packaging. Organizations of the Platform stated: "From here we send a message to the governments of the world if we can get down to work, you too.
